Each pearl is knotted individually, which is slow, unfashionable, and the only method that keeps a broken strand from becoming a lost strand.
The gold was worked at 22 karat against the advice of every supplier consulted. It is softer, it marks more easily, and it is the only colour that does not fight the warmth of natural pearl.
The clasp sits at the front. It was designed to be seen, because a fastening that has to be hidden is usually one that was not worth making.
