Shabnam

Stones that were already a hundred years old when the work began.

The diamonds came from a piece the client had inherited and never worn. They were cut by hand long before the modern proportions existed, which is why they move light the way they do — slower, warmer, less even.

The brief was to keep every carat. That ruled out recutting to a modern shape, so the setting was designed around the stones as they were rather than the other way round.

They are hung rather than fixed, so they turn slightly with the wearer. The movement is the point.

We will bring it out for you. If it has already been commissioned, we will tell you that too, and show you what is on the bench instead.
